For Students: Your Test Plan

Your institute has set you a target score and put you on a test plan. The plan gives you one test at a time, on a paper you have never seen, until your exam. Your institute sets the target and the dates; you take the tests and practise.

When a test is ready

You get a notice and an email for each test, for example:

Next SAT test (Full mock) opens Fri 16 Oct, due Thu 22 Oct — Dubai time.

The test appears with your other assignments on your dashboard, in My Assignments, and on your Calendar. Before it opens, the assignment page shows Not Available Yet with the date it opens. Start it from the assignment page.

The assignment page also has a Before you start card. It lists what the test records while you take it — for example how often you leave the test page, and how much you copy and paste — so you know before you begin. Nothing interrupts you during the test, and none of it changes your score; your teacher sees a summary. If your institute requires Safe Exam Browser for your tests, the page also tells you what to expect from it and gives you a button to open it.

Plan tests run under exam conditions. Answer every section as you would in the real exam: a test counts only when at least half of each section is answered (and, for IELTS, every Writing task and Speaking part). If you miss the due date the test stays open — take it as soon as you can.

My test plan

Open My test plan from the target card on your language-tests dashboard. It shows:

  • your target and exam date (set by your institute);
  • your next test and when it opens;
  • your trend — overall, and section by section;
  • every result, with a link to the full result page.

Practice drills

After each counted test, your plan may set practice drills on the skills that need the most work, due by your next test. Your teachers can set drills too. Find them all under My Assignments → Practice drills, on the dashboard's Practice to do card, and on your Calendar on their due day. Press Start or Continue to practise; a drill leaves the list once every question is answered.

Questions about your target or dates

Your target, exam date and test dates are managed by your institute. If something needs to change — for example your exam date moved — ask your teacher or counsellor to update your plan.
