Student Guide
Your teacher has added a PrepareBuddy test, quiz or assessment to your course. Here is what happens when you open it.
Doing the work
- Click the assignment in your LMS (Canvas, Moodle or Brightspace).
- PrepareBuddy opens in a new tab. If you see a PrepareBuddy card with an Open PrepareBuddy button instead, click it.
- You are already signed in — no PrepareBuddy password is needed. You arrive on the work your teacher chose.
- Complete it. Your work is saved as you go; if you lose your connection, open the assignment again from your LMS and continue where you left off.
- Your score goes to your course gradebook when it is final.
Your account
- The first time, PrepareBuddy creates an account for you using the name and email your LMS shares.
- If you already use PrepareBuddy with the same email, that account is used, with your history.
- You can also sign in to PrepareBuddy directly later: use Forgot password with your LMS email to set a password.
Your grade
- Tests and quizzes: usually within a minute of finishing. If your teacher reviews test results first, it appears after they release it.
- Assessments: when your teacher releases your feedback.
- Opening the assignment after you finish shows your result.
If something goes wrong

| Nothing happens when you click Open PrepareBuddy | Allow pop-ups for your LMS site, then click again. |
| "This link has expired" / "already used" | Go back to your LMS and click the assignment again. |
| "Your email is already used by a PrepareBuddy account at another organization" | Ask your teacher to have that account added to your institution. |
| "Your access … has been turned off" | Contact your teacher or institution. |
| Your grade has not appeared | Tell your teacher — they can see the status and resend it. |
