Scores and the Gradebook
PrepareBuddy sends every score together with its maximum. Your LMS then shows it as a fraction of the assignment's points.
Set points possible to the maximum
If the assignment's points possible equal the maximum below, the gradebook shows the exact score. With LTI 1.3 and the PrepareBuddy picker, this is set for you.

Example. A student scores IELTS band 7.5. PrepareBuddy sends 7.5 out of 9. With points possible = 9 the gradebook shows 7.5; with points possible = 100 it shows 83.33.
Scaled scores keep their scale: an SAT 1210 out of 1600 appears as 1210 when points possible is 1600. (It is not converted to a percentage of the 400–1600 range.)
When a score is sent
- Language test: when the student finishes, or when a result held for teacher review is released.
- Quiz: when the student submits.
- Assessment: when the teacher releases the feedback to the student.
- Again whenever the score changes (a re-mark), and when a teacher or administrator clicks Resend.
A score is sent only to the gradebook column of the LMS assignment the student opened the work from.
When nothing is sent (yet)
- A language test has no overall score yet — for example, writing or speaking still being graded, or a GMAT with a missing section. The score is sent once it exists.
- An assessment's feedback has not been released to the student.
- The LMS link has no gradebook column (an ungraded link). Make it a graded assignment.
