Results, Certificates & Verification

Review before release

If the event was set to hold for examiner review, finished results queue up rather than going straight to the candidate.

An examiner opens the result, reads the writing and speaking, and can adjust the score. An adjustment is recorded as an examiner override and shown as one — it sits alongside the machine mark rather than quietly replacing it, so the record always shows that a human intervened and what they changed.

Release the result and the candidate can see it.

The review ageing panel on the overview page shows how long results have been waiting, so a backlog cannot quietly build up.

Reports

Every released result has a PDF report carrying:

• The conducting organization's logo and colours
• The candidate's name and reference
• Section-by-section scores, and the overall score or level
• The examiner's comments, where there are any
• A verification code

The branding is the conducting organization's, not ours. If you run sittings on behalf of a partner college, their reports look like theirs.

Certificates

A certificate of completion is generated for each released result. Download one from the candidate's record, or the whole event's certificates as a ZIP from the event page.

A certificate carries a stable reference that does not change if you download it again, plus the verification code.

Wording matters here. The certificate records completion of an assessment. It states plainly that levels and scores are calibrated estimates produced by automated marking and are not an official language certification. That is deliberate: a certificate that implied official status would be misrepresenting what it is, to a candidate who may not know the difference.

If an examiner later adjusts a score, a new version of the certificate is issued and the previous one stops being valid.

Public verification

Anyone — an employer, an admissions office, another school — can check a result at:

/language-tests/verify/<verification code>

No login required. The page shows what the result is and who conducted it.

A verification code only works once the result has been released. Before that it shows nothing, so a code that leaks early proves nothing.

Cancelling

Cancel a candidate from the event roster if they are not going to sit. Cancel before they take the test and there is no charge — see How conducted tests are billed.
